私の3枚目のアルバム"必要悪"をお届けする。
トラックは全てニューヨークから帰ってから後に作っている。リリックはニューヨークでこっそり書き上げたものが大半だ。
三船さんのコンセプトは、"全部一人でやること"、"綺麗な日本語を使うこと"の2つ。それさえ守ることができていれば、このサウンドは三船さんの文脈には無いからちょっと・・・、みたいに遠慮する必要もなく、割と挑戦的に新しい音を鳴らしていこうとは思っていた。いつものようにコンピューターベースで作った曲が半分と、実はほぼiPhoneのみでトラックを作った曲も半分ぐらいある。iPhoneがリリースされた当初は、iPhoneはどんな風に音楽制作を変えてしまうのか、みたいなトピックが方々で散見されたけど、それは一旦終わったようだ。結局ポップなものを作りこむには高スペックで大画面のPCをベースにした方が圧倒的にやりやすく便利だし、データの送受信も楽。その点iPhoneはその機動性の高さ、持ち運びのしやすさ、アップデートがたやすいことなど、あげられる利点も多かった。
特にハードウェアがないとできない音、みたいなものはかなりの数プログラム上で再現されてしまっていて、その美味しいところだけを救っていただくことに今回は専心し、奇抜ななりのトラック制作に充てている。音楽生成系のソフトはかなり破壊力が高いので、興味のある人は使ってみるといいと思う。"ROTOR"、"Wotja 2017"、"Seaquence"、"Handy Rec."(Zoom)、"SoundBow"が今回使用したアプリ。環境音の収集と使用、みたいな部分、件のZoomのHandy Rec.に託して使ってみたのだけれど、中々外の音を音楽に転嫁するのは難しいことだった。もうちょっとやってみたいけど。
リリックの内容は、割と"悪"というイメージはニューヨークにいる時からあった気がする。でもそこまで直裁的なイメージを綴っているものは今回は無い。
今回もぜひ楽しんでいただきたい。Bon Voyage。
